Darkspore wont launch after patching finishes

I have a system that far exceeds the requirements running on win 7 64.

Tried both the amazon download version and the steam demo. I launch the exe and it patches, finishes, then tries to launch the game. I see the Darkspore splash screen for a split second, then nothing.

EA support just keeps telling me to run basic windows trouble shooting and is a waste of time.

I know the solution to your problem because I had it.

If you look in the DS main file directory, A.K.A. \Darkspore\DarksporeBin, you'll see one icon that has a .exe.exe. Click on it and the game will align itself so that it has the latest and greatest and no shut down after the program's update screen.

You could right-click the file and select "Run as Administrator".

Check your sound driver, OS & Graphics Drivers to see if their up-to-date.

I'd still check Windows Updates too.
