Terraria vs Minecraft Choose your side

Terraria, a said 2D Platformer Cousin of Minecraft (Made by my favorite videogame designer Redigit)
Or Minecraft, a 3D Version of Terraria

I would definately go with minecraft, terraria is such a short game, where you can achieve a lot very quickly, in minecraft it normally takes much longer, and you have the many client and server mods adding more content.

Terraria has promise, but so does Minecraft. But honestly though - you cannot compare either game. One is more action-focused and the other one appears to be more creative-building focused. While I enjoy building deathtraps on Minecraft, there's just something lacking in the combat that makes me want to go back to Terraria - and then I'd realise that Terraria's crafting system is rather crude. Don't get me wrong, I like both games. But they have their own imperfections.

Minecraft. I've never played Terraria, but it doesn't sound too good. And creating buildings which you can enter is something that has always entertained me. Plus, side-scrolling games aren't that fun.

^That's so generalized, I'm afraid. By that statement - "side-scrolling games aren't that fun" - you're claiming you've bplayed every. Single. One. You can't be sure Terraria "isn't that good" until you've played it. As far as I know, it's much like Terraria... but... in first person, and that looks quite awkward to me. Terraria is very fun, dirt-cheap, and it doesn't have first person. I like that.
Also you misused "good" there. I believe it should be "but it doesn't sound too promising" or "Doesn't sound that good". It sounds... awkward to say it "too good" ^^"

WHY!? Tell me, WHY is Minecraft better? Just like people bashing SPORE! You are aweful at debating if you can't. Give. Reasons. Why.

That... was somewhat rude. Fine, i'll give you a reason.

Sure, i'ven't played very many, but side-scrolling games have a lot less area than 3-D games. They also will often have a locked character, something which I do not like too much. Then there's the fact that most old games are 2-D, even if they're not side-scrolling, A.K.A. they're bland by association.

To put it in perspective, would you rather live in a 2-D world or a 3-D one? In a 2-D world, obstacles are almost impossible to go around, and you will be hurt by touching anything that moves, but 3-D provides so much more thought-provoking, area-affecting, customizing lemony goodness.

And what does Spore have to do with anything? Spore was a great game that got sent to a retirement home prematurely because it was full of great ideas, and the greater the idea, the faster it degrades into garbage. Kinda like inflation, something that is surpassed only by global warming, war and conspiriacy.

Aye, I try not to be offensive, and I wasn't really refering to you... it's just some people automatically say something with no support, give no support and such. Aaaaand I'm 'fraid I'm a grammar nazi, so...
Anyway, Terraria is a great game, and there really IS a vast world to explore. And I think this - DS - and Galactic Adventures proves that there is hope for SPORE, and that they haven't dumped it.

Not necessarily. I still use Spore, GA, and I am quite the Darkspore fangirl. :B

I am sure I'm not alone with that assumption, though.

Anyway, to be more on topic here, I personally prefer Minecraft. I dunno, but I just like the feel of it better. It was easier for me to get used to.

On the other hand, Terraria's mobs are quite interesting.. especially that evil flying eye thing at Blood moon or whatever. That was awesome. xDD

Terraria would win, but minecraft is better because there are just so many mods for it, like the terraria mod, portal mod(see picture), skyrim mod, left for dead mod...
I hope someone makes a Darkspore mod...
