What I expected.

Cursor aiming is a long ways off, RNG resists, replication issues and lag causing players to appear where they aren't, characters locking up, the list goes on and on.

Thankfully, I was able to spare some time to put together what I hope to be a useful video for developers and players alike to view to get a good feel for what I think are the primary user-facing issues currently.

edit: as of writing this post one or two of these issues have been fixed as a result of a hotfix! go devs!

When I saw the top video, I was expecting for a serious yet screwed up video from Darkspore that showed what was wrong with it. Instead we see FPS Doug in one of his worst scenes.

Try the one where he's breaking the keyboard after he gets killed.

Will probably upload an actual non-edited playthrough of some Darkspore PVP later today or tomorrow.

On a side-note, after paying a little bit better attention to things I noticed that health actually increases whenever you swap your heroes???

I did like 10 PvP matches last night and I agree there's some things that should be addressed.

-A few times the game seemed to lag out or something and clicking wouldn't register, aiming ranged shots would be way off, and once my opponent walked off the map into nothingness lol.

-I don't think scaling is working as intended...I fought a lower level player and he pretty much kicked my ass. It was a straight up melee fight too. Now I am not saying a lower level guy (20 levels or so) is impossible to kill a higher level squad, but I looked up his squad after the game and they were MUCH less powerful. I'm talking half the health of my characters, and way less stats as well. There's no way he should have been able to stomp me like that. Either the scaling is totally whacked where it's actually scaling down higher level players to the point that you actually gimp them, or the stats on the profiles are misleading or incorrect.

-I noticed people are able to change heroes in the middle of certain skills...like Andromeda's gravity well. They completely mitigate the damage as the change right before she slams them. I guess this *might* be considered a skillful move...to be honest I started utilizing heroes switching too...but I wonder if this is the intended behavior?

How matches have you done? For the most part aiming was fine for me too, but in at least 2 matches there were times where it was way off. Not talking right clicking and me trying to lead a target or anything like that...I was maybe 6-10 in game meters away from my target left clicking on the other player and my character was shooting at least 45 degrees off. I would try to move a re-align myself and it would still be that way. Then it would magically work again so I think it might have something to do with lag or the clients synching up positioning.

Im certain that it is working as intended. U can switch out of every ability. If u would not be able to switch out of those ability's u would not have a fighting chance. I use a ability root all the time and some people just stand there not switching and there hero dies without even touching me. The only problem i got is when i fight a skilled player who can heal himself (just like my team) then we both wont die and its a endless battle :).

Well I am not too sure about that...for instance...if you switch out heroes and you are in the middle of that slow AoE thing from Sage, you will still be slowed until you walk out of it.

What's happening with the gravity well example is when they switch they basically just "fall out" of the effect and nothing happens.

I don't mind they can switch mid attack (maybe to avoid that hero dying or something) but I don't think that should cause the attack sequence to just outright stop.

Or maybe not...I mean I can see some strategic value here but it also feels a bit cheap and a little like exploiting mechanics rather than tactically using heroes in a squad.

Renevent42 - including beta matches, I've played well over a 100 PvP's and aiming has been fine. What exactly do you find wrong with it?

Sometimes when your character is put in an awkward spot or is rooted, animations get messed up and may show abilities being used in wrong directions but in fact they will still work as intended.

If you read what I wrote, you will see that's not the case with the example I brought up.

To reiterate though:

-Player was no more than ~10 in game meters away
-Left click (multiple times as well and holding down) on player enemy
-Other player was not moving (most of the time)
-Shots were way off...sometimes as much as 45 degrees
-These were REGULAR attacks, not skills
-Sometimes after a bit everything would "synch up" again and the aim would seem to correct itself
-In one case of this, I did notice some lag in the player movement as well

I am glad this never happened to you, but it indeed is an issue. I'm not the only one who has experienced it, either.

It only happened a couple times luckily...I don't think it has anything to do with my connection either (16mbps)...probably a problem with the other player or maybe the server synching up our positions...or something :P

I've updated this thread with the videos I made regarding the issues I had with the game. Hopefully this will serve my main goal better as originally it was a slightly rage-induced post and when I had some time to step back and think about it I felt a lot better. : )

If anything I've had problems with them lasting too long so I think this is kind of funny. I'd take another look at your heroes and make sure you have some +resists as well as some +atk speed.

I'm happy to report you'll be able to see an example of this in the videos with Magnos's meteor shot.
