Login Issue

My wife's computer gets stuck on the logging in animation (the hex goes round and round forever if you let it). This started on the last night of the beta, her game crashed or got dc'd I forget which, she never could login again since that point. My computer connects fine so I don't think its a router issue, we both run windows 7 64 bit... We've tried reinstalling, running the game as an administrator, running it from steam and from the exe... nothing works.

Just to be sure I stuck her computer in the router's dmz and turned off windows firewall and still gets stuck. Both of our accounts won't work on her computer, both of them work on my computer... I'm getting frustrated rapidly.

I used Microsoft's tool to reset the hosts file... not sure what else to try

I've gotten both of our computers updated with windows updates, still not working... the major difference between our two computers is that hers has two harddrives, a small fast rpm C: drive with windows 7 on it and a bigger harddrive for data storage (steam and darkspore are on the 2nd hard drive) and mine just has 1 hard drive.

Make sure your EA pasword doesn't have any forbidden symbols in it. I picked up the game on launch day and hadn't been able to play it since. Install was fine, patching was fine, but I had the issue you described. Also, I couldn't log in to the forum, although I could log into the main site. I tried openeing ports, host file, reinstalling, everything. Long story short, my EA password had an "&" in it. I changed it to one without it and it finally worked.

I suppose it could be a coincidence, but nothing else I tried worked. Give it a shot.

Well we tried changing her password just for the hell of it but ya didn't change a thing

I went into C:\Users\<username>\appdata\roaming\darksporedata\ and deleted both of the server packages and it worked finally

i got the same problem you described with version 5.3.0.89.
running it as admin no firewall or antivirus, on windows 7. the login animation keeps getting around forever. i spoke with a support guy and we downloaded eadm and everything, its in my profile the key is registered etc.

i went into the folder you described and deleted the files, tried it, didnt work
deleted the whole folder, tried it, didnt work.

if someone comes up with a sollution for this let me know. this is the first thread i see with exactly the same problem i have. no freaky window opening or something

I have a HUGE problem.
When I go on the Darkspore website,I log in but after I clicked on a different link, It logs out!
Next I log into darkspore game and then it says i must put retail or serial key, after i did that it goes back to the log in part and this goes on a loop, then I exited the log in page and it says an error!

It's confusing and I can't play darkspore! Only the limed edition works so I'm going to get it.

What error (code?) are you being provided with, JPOG7?

Also, for future reference it is better to make your own bug report, rather than post on such an old thread, especially when the subject matter differs so :3.

Did you try registering through the website? Just follow these steps:

If you are having problems with your key. Go to http://www.darkspore.com and login. Once you are logged in go to http://darkspore.com/product enter your key and press the Go! button. Please include the dashes and use lowercase letters.

i have the same issue as JPOG7. no matter how many times i login to the darkspore website, when i get to the page after the login page, i am no longer logged in. this happens with everything on darkspore's website. with the darkspore game itself, i cant register. i can do the first login, which brings me to the registration page. after that (i can put anything into the keycode, it still puts me through) i am brought to a login page. once i go through that, im back at registration. this continues to loop,without ever giving me an error message, and the only thing i can do is play the demo. due to the darkspore website login issue, i cant register on the website. please help me, i have been looking forward to this game for months, and i would hate to have to stop here due to such a trivial glitch.

I'm having the exact same issue. I just purchased Darkspore from Best Buy for my son, and I'm stuck in the infinite loop of logging in, trying to submit my CD-Key, and then logging in again, and then being asked for my CD-Key again. My experience is similar; it seems that the website does not maintain my logged-in status.

For a really cool-looking game, I have to say this type of thing is very disappointing. I've spent more time working on this than any other game I've setup / installed (other than DC Universe Online, but that's a whole other story). That being said, I'd appreciate some help in working through this issue.

Sorry -- one more thing. If I log-in, here's what I notice.

1. In the upper-right hand order, I still see "login / register" links.
2. On the home page, I see the form field to enter a redeemable key.
3. If I go to http://darkspore.com/product, I see the form field to enter my product key.
4. When I enter my product key, I'm brought back to the login screen with an error displayed that says "Error! You need to login to view requested page."

Again, any help here would be appreciated. I've got a couple of kids and am looking to probably buy 3 additional copies of the game for their laptops. I'm not going to do it, though, if I can't get it setup on my son's first.

I can only guess right now but...

Contact EA Customer Support (Live) & explain the issue exactly/similar to how you have here so they can't misunderstand you.

With any such luck they'll be able to manually key you in but I make no promises, sorry.

That's the same thing I'm doing now!
This maybe happening by where we live or we need better internet?

The usual culprit of that is an anti-virus, browser settings or add-ons/plugins. I'd suggest using a vanilla browser and turning off/standby your anti-virus.
