Seam hasnt sent out CD keys

Postby Ravensteel » Mon Apr 25, 2011 3:06 pm

The game will launch in less than 12 hours and I was told that
1. The game will have downloaded by noon (wrong)
2. I would be able to see my key by now (wrong)
3. The beta would patch to retail for all users (figured that was wrong yesterday though).

So where is my key. Why isn't it downloading. Please don't leave me in the dark. To clarify, this is for steam and not normal ea stuff.

As stated on darkspore twitter, & before the moderator comes one more time to throw random guesses at you: There is no information on when Steam will give the keys.

It is up to Steam, apparently ea/maxis have no ideas about how will Steam handle it (great communication right there).

Just wait, it'll auto update & prompt you to pre-load / download / get your key.

Remember that you can always cancel preorders on Steam; & get it from elsewhere.

Canceling preorders with steam... might as well climb MT Everest, or cure cancer... either would be easier. I'm in the same boat as the OP, I was like, " I hate EA, but steam sucks too." I should have gone with EA, steam is so much crap. When they sold the Ubisoft pack a month ago, they actually sold more copies than they had CD keys, so people had to wait for 3 days before they could play.

Issue with Steam and canceling preorder: Everything is handled case by case and you can only cancel if its prior to launch, so if you apply to cancel preorder from steam so you can buy from EA this late, you will very likely end up with 2 copies.

Looks like we are forced to wait for whenever steam feels like letting us play. woo. last time I pre-order anything on steam.

Every single time I've pre-ordered something on Steam, except for Portal 2, it's this same exact crap. Amazon from now on for me. TERRIBLE TERRIBLE way to take care of your pre-order customers, Steam.
