PATCH CHANGELIST 5.3.0.77


PERFORMANCE / CRASHES
* Fixed an issue where lag/stability would occur after completing several mission in a chain. We are continuing to monitor this fix, any feedback is welcome.
* Fixed an issue where Elites were affecting game performance.


BOSSES
* Fixed a bug where the Cryos boss attacks were not animating correctly.


CAMPAIGN
* Fixed an "out of world" issue on Verdanth 3 that was causing display problems.
* Fixed a horde gate on Verdanth 3 that players could not teleport into.


ITEMS
* During a mission on a planet, players will now be able to exchange loot by dropping items they've won and picking up items dropped by others. Use the new "Recent Items" tab in the inventory to drop items. Only items picked up during a mission can be traded.
* The random additional stats on Rarified and Purified items will now focus slightly more on the eight primary stats.


UI
* Fixed an issue where the shift key caused the editor sell mode to get stuck.
* "Show Special Items" filter no longer hides the slot filters or sort dropdown.
* "Create Detail Parts" button no longer displays a popup if no items are selected.
* Disabled the Genesis and Slot Type filters in the Detail parts tab.
* Hid the Genesis Type icons on Detail parts.
* Using a Genesis Type filter no longers clears the search string.
* The search field should behave better- no more hidden/leftover text.
* Fixed an issue where clicking the upgrade/weapons tabs with buyback items selected caused the inventory to function incorrectly.
* Fixed a bug with UI intercepting clicks, which created a dead zone in the upper left portion of the screen.
* Fixed a bug with game UI not coming back after boss cinematics.
* Rearranged filters to match tab order in editor.
* Fixed clickable area of the "Return to Ship" button.


ABILITIES
* Fixed a bug where diminishing returns weren't being applied to taunts.
* Reduced the duration of the plasma mines from Kinetic Mines enemies.
* Reduced the duration of Seismic Smash's taunt in PvP.
* Fixed a bug where healing done by Reconstructionist wasn’t scaling with threat level.
* Fixed for basic DoTs not acting properly in groups of players with different gear scores or levels.
* Fixed a bug with Overdrive Duration loot where it was scaling more quickly than intended.


MISC
* Tweaked some objective text.
* Fixed a size scaling issue with certain destructible objects.
* Fixed a bug with objectives reporting the wrong numbers.


NOTES
In rare cases, some users may need to reinstall to avoid a crash when entering the game. You can download from http://darkspore.com/download

I can confirm (for me atleast) the chaining instability is entirely gone; playing solo I just managed a chain to 3-4^9.
Unfortunately my squad was kitted out for +item find, rather than combat against level 55 enemies... I died :blushing:

It certainly isn't too easy anymore :peace:

Fantastic! That was the number one bug that was making me worried about launch. Now it actually sounds like it's getting very ready. ^_^

Thats a nice start on the trading too.
Do you have to trade before the "return to ship" even if you are going to continue to the next mission?

You're allowed to trade any items acquired from that chain, so you can trade them later if you're continuing on.

I managed to chain to 3-4^8 with one party member, had about 23 gold medals or so before I decided to collect :)

It looks like the freezing problem is fixed. I would always freeze for CERTAIN by the 5th chain, so getting much farther past that, I'm confident it's fixed.

Though, on level 3-4^3 or so, it was kind of iffy. A couple of times I tried to open an obelisk or pick up an item, it wouldn't pick up and I couldn't move, but it fixed itself after a second or two. This was the only level this happened on (it was one of the quantum teleporty ones). On all other levels I had no problem with item pickup/obelisk opening.

I think the horrible freeze bugged is fixed :) Pat yourself on the back Maxis.

I didnt want to risk it too much just in case i lost my loot again but i got to 3-4^5 without a single problem when normally it would occur at ^3 so im rather happy
got my first purified as well! YAY!
makes an awesome helmet for andromeda.

Seems most people are making it to ^10 and getting destroyed at that point. I'd say it's pretty well fixed. Heh

One thing that the longer threat chains has brought to light.....

While the mobs get a hell of a lot tougher, the bosses do not.

No rotate camera view like spore? Will there be any way to see what your character is looking directly at under a tree? At times a small portion of item highlights but can not rotate view to see what character is looking at right in front of it. I did search on subject rotate camera view and didnt see anything definate. Would just like to know before actually picking up pre-order at GameStop. Not a complaint, just a question. I can always use the credit for something else so no big deal. Thanks much.
