Darkspore RP: Epilogue

Postby Evex_Wolfwing » Sun Dec 25, 2011 7:55 pm

_______________________________________EPILOGUE__________________________________________

_____15 years later...

_____The Corruptor is dead. Civilization has begun to rebuild, slowly, but rebuilding none-the-less. The few remaining Crogenitors have vanished into the far-flung edges of the galaxy. The five worlds of the Crogenitor’s experiments, now aware of each other’s existence, have tentatively begun to work together.

_____The Genetic Weapons created to fight the Darkspore are now the main concern of society. These beings of immense power all have their own goals, and the power to achieve these goals. Some seek to help civilization get back on its feet. Others wish to return to their own lives. And then there are those who have grown drunk off their power, and seek either domination or desolation.

_____The Darkspore still lurk in the dark corners of the galaxy. Without a leader, they are splintered, but they are still a force to be weary off.

_____Now we come to the turning point. Either we will rise...

_____Or we will turn on ourselves, and all will be for naught.

A BLACK HEART STILL BEATS
I AM THE ALL
THIS IS NOT OVER

______________________________________Locations_______________________________________

Zelem’s Nexus - The Nexus has been mostly repaired, and now serves as the unofficial capital for the united efforts of the five planets. The teleportation technology is constantly being improved upon. Spacecraft orbiting the ring is a daily event, as they use the black hole’s gravity as a massive slingshot to make travel even faster.

Despite the fact that it is in orbit around a black hole, Zelem is the safest world in terms of the Darkspore threat. Only a few packs remain, and the Hunter’s are closing in...

Nocturna - All other worlds are keeping a wary eye on Nocturna. Catastrophic Civil War was barely adverted after the Darkspore were defeated, and a temporary government has been headed, lead by Revenant, Wraith, and Jinx. For now, the Trinity Council rules, and direct their will through Skar’s Martial Police. Publicly, they hope to set up another government once the population is settled. But in politics, everybody has their own motive...

In the eternal night, Darkspore remain. They creep just out of sight, watching, waiting...

Verdanth - The home of Biogenesis, the verdanthi now till the land, raising crops and livestock. The most hospitable of all the five worlds, it’s cities are packed to the brim with traders, and it is hard to not get lost in the crowded streets. Outside of the cities, nature still rules, and the vast forests go on as if nothing ever happened.

The Darkspore hide in the woods. The are at their most vulnerable, and that makes them even more reckless. While they dare not attack the bustling cities, anybody who wanders too far into the woods is guaranteed to get found... and killed...

Cryos - Cryosi civilization is focused underground, in vast caverns. The surface itself remains mostly unsuited for sapient life. Only a Genetic Hero is able to withstand the subzero temperatures for extended periods of time, and even then they must find shelter once night comes, with its howling winds and biting cold.

Darkspore continue to wander the surface of Cryos, though not in the numbers they had before. Anybody who gets lost has to keep their whits about them, as in this frozen wasteland, one can still be burnt to death...

Infinity - Infinity was lost long before the Darkspore. The inhabitants of this world have spread out, and have begun to live on other planets. People continue to mine Infinity for its resources. This world is defined by toxic pools and vast ravines, the result of centuries of extensive mining. The air is dense and hard to breath, and cliffs can give way at any time.

With so few people, it is easy for Darkspore to go unnoticed. Deep in the ravines, Reparatrons whittle the day away, taking parts from machinery and their fellow Cybergenetic Darkspore. They appear oblivious to everything else, so unlike their Darkspore kin. The reasons for this strange behavior is unknown...

Scaldron RESTRICTED AREA

Even after the Corruptor’s death, Scaldron is swarming with Darkspore. With the Hive Mind splintered, the world appears to be gripped in civil war between various packs of Darkspore. Explosions illuminate the dead world from orbit. After much discussion, it has been decided that the Darkspore should be left to kill themselves off, with the aid of orbital bombardment. Scaldron is constantly monitored. Nobody is allowed on or off.

_________________________________________Factions___________________________________

Gene Corp. - “WELL! As I’m sure you know, we have a nut job running about declaring ‘Genetic Weapon superiority’. Now, this is rather counter productive. We were made to protect and serve, not to direct and oppress. Sure, we are here to stop robberies, save lives, help little old ladies across the street... but I want ALL OF YOU, and I mean ALL OF YOU, to keep an eye out. We have some monsters about... and they look just like us.” - Gilese, the Particle Marksman

Founded by Andromeda five years ago, Gene Corp. is the main law enforcement organization. Comprised entirely out of Genetic Weapons, Andromeda’s main goal was to have some way for the surviving soldiers from the Crogenitor Insurgency to contribute to society. Even though she has left the organization itself, she keeps close ties. Thus far it appears to be fulfilling its purpose. With the New Age Messengers about, Gene Corp. is busy keeping their brethren from causing too much chaos.

Base: Zelem’s Nexus
Individuals of Interest: Andromeda, the Gravitic Warlord (founder)
Gilese, the Particle Marksman (Director)
Goliath, the Energy Guardian (Field Officer)
Lumin, the Lightning Provoker (Field Officer)

New Age Messengers - “I don’t see what all of the fuss is. We have the power to do what we wish. Life the a struggle. Survival of the fittest. We are fit. So why not do what we were made to do: take over for our creators?” - Conquer, the Steel Behemoth

When the Mutation Wars had begun, the Crogenitors chose whoever they could to become Genetic Soldiers. Many of these countless souls were hardly the sort one would want to give power. Others were changed by the war. It was a necessary evil in order to survive. But now, with the war a thing of the past, society must now deal with these individuals.

The New Age Messengers came together for one simple purpose: domination. They seek control of all society, and will do it by any means necessary. Some are misguided, others cruel, a few simply monsters.

The founder of the New Age Messengers is unknown. It is likely that he is dead. Leadership is uncertain.

Base: N/A scattered about.
Individuals of Interest: Conquer, the Steel Behemoth (Member, wanted for theft and blackmail)
Strep, the Viral Murderer (Member, wanted for mass-murder)
Diomedas, the Ravenous Nightmare (Member, wanted for murder, being a general cannibalistic freak)
Thunder, the Charged Menace (Member, wanted for murder, and destruction of property)

The Hunters - “Well, you know why you are here. To kill Darkspore. It is what you were made to do. Every world still has Darkspore on it. You task: hunt down the scum, and finish what you started, fifteen years ago.” - Char, the Blazing Inferno

Even before the Corruptor’s death, Char knew that the Darkspore wouldn’t just vanish. The Blazing Inferno began organizing individuals after the Seven Days War on Scaldron. Warriors of every Genesis agreed with Char. They needed to keep fighting against the Darkspore, even after they won. Since then, Char has been directing squads of Genetic Weapons to regions of various worlds. Wherever Darkspore appear, the Hunters will not be far behind.

Even so, Gene Corp. is somewhat disapproving. The Hunters have a habit of disregarding laws, and often cause property damage. However, the New Age Messengers view the Hunters as competition, and almost seem to go out of their way to cause even more damage.

Base: Cryos
Individuals of Interest: Char, the Blazing Inferno (Founder, Directer)
Zrin, the Sun-Fist (Member)
Krel, the Living Firestorm (Member)
Meditron, the Repair-Bot (Member)

_________________________________NPC FACTIONS_______________________________________

These are not the only factions and organizations. While the three above are the only playable factions, there are others that are of importance. Chances are, your characters are going to have interactions with these other groups... whether these are friendly encounters or not is up to you.

The Cryosi Republic

The ruling body of Cryos. Centered in Cryos’s equatorial region. The Cryosi Republic is headed by Prime Minister Blitz. He rules with a soft voice and a large stick, polite yet forceful, understanding yet resolute.

Base: Cryos
Individuals of Interest: Blitz, the Storm Striker (Founder, Prime Minister)
Roask, the Pryokinetic Swordsman (Advisor)

The Architects

Founded by Titan, the Impenetrable. The purpose of the architects is to rebuild civilization. They will take on any related job, doing much good for society, and making quite a bit of money while they are at it.

Base: Infinity
Individuals of Interest: Titan, the Impenetrable (Founder, Architectural Director)
Viper, the Toxic Ravager (Weaponry Director)
Sage, the Life Forester (Ecological Restoration Director)
Vex, the Chrono Shifter (Shipbuilding Director)

The United Nexus Democracy

The collective governments of the islands in the Nexus all stand united as a united governmental body. Leadership is equally held by the Congress and President. The first, and current President is none other than Andromeda, a leader who has proved herself capable... though many others would rather credit went to themselves...

Base: Zelem’s Nexus
Individuals of Interest: Andromeda, the Gravitic Warlord (President)
Magnos, the Binary Star Sentinel (Advisor, unofficial bodyguard)

The Nocturni Order

As soon as the Darkspore were vanquished, radicals almost immediately tried to instate a Neo Nocturni Legion. These efforts were repelled, and after much bloodshed, and the intervention of the other planets, a new government was instated. While similar to the Legion in structure, the Order in far more just and much less corrupt. It is headed by the Trinity Council, a pseudo religious body comprised of Jinx, Wraith, and Revenant. As there is still much discontent, martial law has been instated, directed by Skar. Some argue that it is simply the Legion under a different name. But as it stands, until the populace can settle down, very little progress can be made.

Base: Nocturna
Individuals of Interest: Jinx, the Dark Reaper (Founder, Trinity Council)
Wraith, the Spectre of Vengeance (Founder, Trinity Council)
Revenant, the Deathraider of the Stars (Founder, Trinity Council)
Skar, the Shadow of Death (Chief Director of Martial Police)

The Church of Ikuyu

_____The head governmental and spiritual body of Verdanth. Headed by the Twelve Elders, they communicate with the public through their figurehead, Arborus. However, as they soon discovered, Arborus was not one to simple act on orders alone, and at times just who is in charge is an uncertainty.

Base: Verdanth
Individuals of Interest: Arborus, the Veridian Protector (Figurehead, Head Priest (the Ikuyu))

________________________________Variant Abilities______________________________

Given that we are moving from a number based game to a word based one, Genetic Weapon’s powers work differently.

BIOGENENTIC-

Virulent Vines - Causes vines to erupt from ground, and wrap around a victim. These vines will then reach out for anything else that has enough warmth. The vines will attempt to bore tiny filaments into the victims, to absorb energy/nutrients.

Enrage - Draws ambient energy from the environment, and converts it into Biotic Energy. This energy will then be directed into the caster or a target. This will briefly increase the musculature and promote regeneration. Leaves the recipient exhausted afterwards.

Roar of Derision - The caster releases a deafening bellow, loud enough to stun most beings, and knock them off balance.

Healing Sprite - Manifests Biotic Energy into a small entity. This creature will zip about, channeling its own energy into any being that the caster directs it to. It will perish after giving away all of its energy. It can also be killed.

CYBERGENETIC-

Zetawatt Beam - Shoots a laser beam. Nothing Special.

Charged Fist - An electrified strike with some limb, be it foot, fist, tail, ect.

Omnishield - For one post, creates an energy sheath around the caster, rendering them invincible to most attacks, and healing them of aliments. Takes a lot of energy, leaving the caster exhausted. Can’t be used for another five posts, so make it count. The shield will not save you from falling to your death, being crushed by an avalanche, drowning, suffocation, etc.

Proximity Mine - Can plant mines created from Cyber Energy.

NECROGENETIC-

Lifeforce Siphon - The caster reaches out for a being with tendrils of Necrotic Energy. Upon coming into contact with a living being, energy will be directly siphoned from the victim into the caster. Maintaining the stream requires intense concentration.

Soul Link - Synchronizes with another consenting living being. This forms a telepathic link, and allows for thoughts and memories to be passed from one to the other. Generally, the link will be severed after a while, but with enough practice, any being who has been repeatedly exposed to a Soul Link could find the other person on a telepathic level, and the link can be reestablished. A person with this ability can also feel for similarly emphatic presences.

Phantom Charge - Turns semi-intangible, and rushes forward. Can pass through solid matter, causing pain in living beings.

Affliction Bolt - Manifests Necrotic Energy into a semi-sentient entity. It will fly around, harassing anything that is alive. Its touch will drain energy. After a time it will perish. It can also be killed.

PLASMAGENETIC-

Meteor Strike - Condenses Plasma Energy into a solid mass, then launches it at a targeted point. The mass will instantly break back into energy on impact, creating an explosion filled with shrapnel as various volcanic rock.

Webbed Lightning - Fires bolts of lightning in every direction. The longer the player concentrates, the stronger the bolts are. However, it will drain the caster more, and will begin to hurt.

Flame Surge - Launches a wave of flames.

Electron Sphere - Launches a highly unstable projectile made of electricity. Pieces of it will break off and shock nearby objects and people.

QUANTUMGENETIC-

Celestial Comet - Condenses Quantum Energy into a solid mass, then launches it at a targeted point. The mass will instantly break back into energy on impact, creating an explosion.

Shooting Star - Accelerating projectile made out of Quantum energy. No change, really.

Time Bubble - Created a protective field of Quantum Energy, which will slightly slow down anything in the field. However, the caster himself is also slowed down. The field’s location is set, so it will remain in the same place if the caster moves out of it. It will dissipate after a short span of time. Multiple Time Bubbles will cancel each other out.

Dimensional Rift - Capable of teleporting oneself or others across vast distances. It takes a lot of energy however. The caster must have seen the place of landing in person, and can’t send someone to another planet. Multiple people can be transported by a Rift.

__________________________________________Rules__________________________________________

Like it or not, rules are needed, and that applies here also.

1.) All your typical forum rules apply here as well.
2.) No God-Modding. Controlling other peoples characters, spamming, flaming, and such is also frowned upon. As much fun going Super Saiyan, unfolding an A.T Field, or using your Bankai is, it has no place in RPGs. This means no more Overdrives.
3.) Good grammar and spelling are encouraged. I know that this isn’t a strong spot for some people, but please, try your best. Besides, only good can come from trying to improve.
4.) Killing off other people’s characters is forbidden, except when you have been given permission to. Random NPCs may be dealt with as you feel fit, though I ask that you be realistic about it. Also, if you wish to kill off one or more of your characters, please, inform me ahead of time.
5.) Use IC (In-Character) and OOC (Out of Character) in your posts. For Example;

IC: Strep giggle maniacally, rubbing his tendrils together.

“This is SO much FUN! Who’s next?!”

OOC:

6.) The winner of a battle is determined by you, the players. Strategy, foresight, good RPing, all of this helps. If you and your opponent(s) are unable to decide a winner, one of the staff will decide.
7.) There are no Health or Power Capsules. No Resurrection Capsules. The only thing enemies drop is blood. And limbs, if you are passionate enough in your attacks.
8.) As a RPG, you have freedom. But that doesn’t mean you can change the plot. If you have an idea that you really like, PM me about it. We’ll see...

And...

9.) Enjoy yourselves! I spent a lot of time on this RPG, and I hope that everyone here can enjoy it.

I’m not kidding. Have fun.

Now.

IC: Nocturna: Trinity City, Central Plaza:

The delay was unfortunate, but necessary, he supposed.

Revenant reclined on one of the benches in the triangular plaza, several guards in full armor at his sides, obviously nervous about the apparent lack of caution the man they were charged to defend showed. Revenant didn't feel threatened, though. After one has looked into the eyes of evil itself, a few revolutionaries with bombs weren't very frightening.

Locust was heading to the plaza with his own entourage of soldiers. When he would be there, the Deathraider of the Stars was not certain. But as it stood, they would not leave until the Gene Corp. fellows arrived. As soon as the organization got wind of the Trinity Councils's plans, they insisted on accompanying Locust and his soldiers.

Revenant didn't mind the additional help. He just hoped the cops didn't get killed, as then the Trinity Council would somehow get blamed for it.

IC: Infinity: Iktotom's Skull:

The gears still turned. They would always turn, until the sun boiled over, and engulfed her children. And until the moment that they were embraced by the plasma of the star that birthed Infinity, they would never faulty. This constant was the philosophy by which most who had been born of Infinity lived by. They would work until the day they died.

This was the philosophy Meditron had lived by. And it was all that kept him going.

The sadness in his heart was evident to all present. The Skull had been his savior, its desecration a personal blow. It was like the loss of a parent.

And Maldri wasn't certain how to deal with this. Meditron continued to examine the surrounding, along with all the other men and women present. But the Quantum Raider knew that finding any clues would be a miracle. He helped, but he did not expect to find anything in the cliffs.

IC: Cryos: Nova Vostrra:

To the nostrils of an Undermind, the scent of burnt flesh was more than good. It was stimulating, pleasure inducing, addicting. It was a scent that they had been bred to desire, something to increase their zeal in combat. It was nirvana for the Plasma Lieutenants.

Knowing this, it is understandable that the Undermind was uncertain how to react to being burnt alive itself.

As the Plasma Column dissipated, Zrin tossed the Undermind's body aside, snorting. The Sun-Fist turned, glaring at the dozen or so Electron Bursters that watched him with uncertainty.

One of the Electron Bursters broke rank; whether to gain distance to charge its lightning attacks, or to save itself, Zrin didn't know. It didn't really matter, as Zrin rose his flaming hand into the air, then brought is swinging down. Plasma energy manifested itself as a Meteor Strike, which came down on the Burster, and sent several more flying. The remaining Minions backpedaled, but the Plasma Sentinel was upon them in an instant.

Zrin wondered if he would ever stop enjoying this.

***

"He's enjoying himself..."

Roask shouldered his blade, shaking his head. "The ruffian wouldn't know danger if it bit him in the face."

"Still, he's rather brave..." Fyre nervously pawed the ground, not making eye contact. The Tempest wished she could muster the same zeal that Zrin and Roask had in combat. Alas, she was a healer, and was hardly the type to fight hand to hand.

Didn't help that she didn't have hands. What she wouldn't do for some thumbs...

Roask snorted, flames shooting out of the nostrils of his draconic face, "I call it stupidity. Still, he got here first, so I guess we should go clean up after him..."

Several hours ago, a large group of Darkspore, led by a dozen or so Underminds, had breached the city walls. How they got into the capital of Cryos unmolested was a mystery. But they were there, and so were civilians.

"I'm tired of this job..." Roask muttered, as he strode into battle, flames engulfing his sword.

Re: Darkspore RP: Epilogue

Postby Frog4321 » Tue Dec 27, 2011 5:47 pm

IC:

Verdanth. Such a beautiful place it is with its lush, green overgrowth and its lively population. It was truly a great choice to resume a life.. a life hopefully lacking violence and fatalities.. but we all know that cannot always be avoided. If only it were possible to live under a rock for the rest of your life and be cut off from society.

This was one of Cephariah's wishes.

The quadhorse was sick of the crowded streets and the pest known as Syphon. Every day was the same; awaken from Syphon's annoying voice, stand up, wash her face, and go outside against her will to stroll through the streets full of.. people.. unfamiliar faces.. strangers.. and a naggy Syphon riding on her back. It was really haunting for her. From her past life, socialphobia still leaked into her present personality, delicately tainting it and causing her to become either as quiet and as lifeless as a corpse or as nervous as a maniacal wreck. Still, despite her overall opinion for her schedule, it was still her job. It was what she agreed to do and it is what she will do until someone says otherwise. She didn't completely agree with the philosophy of the Gene Corps. Why can't everyone just leave each other alone? Was that a difficult task? She could never grasp why her brethren can't let things be.

It was just her own philosophy.

It was morning, when Cephariah had finally decided to get up out from under the aging, wooden desk she usually slept under and get prepared for yet another dreadful day. Her cyan eyes were obviously screaming with fatigue, as they were very foggy and dull. She stretched her arms and twisted her spine, her bones popping ravenously. They ached. Everything ached.

For a moment she stood as still as a statue before she turned toward a dusty window which looked out into the forest. Almost robotically, she grabbed her crimson towel that hung from her belt and began to wipe the window once again. Bright sunlight kissed her face.. and, well, burned her eyes. She squinted and looked away from the window simply and silently, making her way toward the fragile wooden desk, which, alike the window, was ridden with a dust and dirt. She stared at the face of the desk and at a segment of white paper that sat upon it and a pen that sat beside it. Undecipherable symbols and words painted the sheet and it only further reminded Cephi about more of her pity goals in life.

She wanted to learn how to read and write. Still, Syphon never got around to teaching her.

Cephariah merely took in a breath before she heard rapid knocks tap the door of her shack. Syphon. He was here.. right on time.

*

The three-foot-tall battery bot was giddy to start off a new day. Syphon-3D, as he was dubbed, had been awake and active throughout the night. For a few hours he usually likes to sit at Cephi's desk and write meaningless to-do lists and other irrelevant things.. only not to fulfill them later. After he was done, he'd continue to sit and think. Then.. well, he left Cephariah's shack in the early morning only to return back to Cephi's shack and awaken her a few hours later.

Being a slave to a schedule, Syphon would never be even a second late from an event. He was always on the dot. ..And he never gave Cephi any slack.

"Eeeeeey!" Syphon snickered as he, growing impatient with the knocking, just opened the door and invited himself into the shack. "Oooh. I see you're awake. Are you finally feeling different about the job or are you going to continue to complain?"

Cephariah glared at the battery bot from the corner of her eye, saying nothing.

"Come now, Cephi! Don't give me that! The cold shoulder isn't nice. Hey, besides, we may be able to do something different today! Who knows until we take a look, right?" Syphon crossed his arms and stared at the Manipulator of Momentum, watching as she sluggishly decides to retort a response.

"You tell me every day," she moaned. "Syphon-3D, I am not like you. I am not a bot. I need sleep. Now."

Syphon merely raised a brow.. well, if he could that is. He tapped his left foot on the ground, expressing his further impatience with bodily language. "You sleep at least fifteen hours a day!" He exclaimed. "For the love of Suzu, what have you been smoking? Don't tell me you've been--"

"Syphon-3D," Cephi interjected, "if you are going to nag about how tired I am, then you can walk aimlessly in the streets without I."

"Aww, come now. You don't need to act that way. Now, c'mon, get your act together."

OOC: FFFS Freaking enter key cut off the rest of my post. *fixes*

IC CONTINUED:

Cephariah knew that if she continued to protest against Syphon, he would just annoy her further. Ooh, decisions, decisions. Should she continue to protest or spare herself the annoyance? It took her some thinking and pondering, but after a few minutes she chose the latter. It was inevitable anyway.

She turned and began to motion herself toward the door. "That's better." He laughed. "You're stubborn. Might need some pills for that."

Cephariah merely rolled her eyes as she motioned out of the door. Without a further ado Syphon crawled onto her back, grabbing with his only free hand onto one of her fuzzy antenna, pulling it as it proposing her to move forward into town. She didn't choose to waste any more of her energy protesting against him, anyway. She was exhausted enough, and obviously no matter what she did she wouldn't be able to avoid the hindrance that was he.

So, she began to trek forward into town where her old shack sat on the outskirts of. It was about a block or so away, however Cephi didn't really mind the walk. It wasn't that bad; at least the scenery was beautiful and everything-- besides Syphon, that is-- seemed quiet. The real torture occurred when they entered the town.

Oh, how she'd rue this day.

OOC: I'll just start the first Verdanth plot until more people join.

IC: Verdanth: Yyrini City:

To say that Spines looked odd is understandable. What looked like an over large dog, with tight leathery lime-green skin, the front legs fused together, a tail that looked more like the abdomen of an insect, a split jaw, four eyes, and a cannon on his back filled with razor sharp thorns. That pretty much summed it up. And seeing a person like this winding his way through the crowded streets was somewhat surreal.

Spines himself was growing somewhat uncertain. This task Arborus had given him didn't seem so much recruitment for a hunt as dragging people off to therapy. First Tork, then Floresta, and that guy whose name he couldn't remember with the tentacles. Now a big blue... centaur chick, and a jumpy walking battery. Well, just the big blue girl. The battery was a buy one get one free.

Speak of the devil, if that wasn't the Quantum Sentinel, then he was senile.

The Bio Ravager scuttled through the crowd, using the skill and nimbleness gained through years of guerilla warfare. He quick came along side Cephariah and her piggybacking robot (she was big).

"Escuse me, Cephariah, Syphon-3D?" He chirped, "I have a message for you two."

IC:

"Cephariah, Syphon-3D? I have a message for you two."

Cephariah's heart almost dropped into her stomach upon hearing Spines's chippy voice. For a moment she stared at the odd-looking creature, unsure on how to react. Usually-- if she were out here on her own-- she would have high-tailed it. She reacts like that to most sentient beings... although if it were obviously uncivilized she'd act different, but that wasn't exactly the point trying to be made here. She was anxious around a bunch of sentient strangers; however, it isn't until one of said strangers takes personal notice of her is when Cephi starts to grow nervous. Hoping that she may still be able to hide from potential communication, she lifted up her left hand, shakily using it to visor her left eye as she craned her neck to the left to avoid any possible eye contact with the Bio-genetic Ravager. She'd let the battery bot take care of the talking, like usual.

It wasn't everyday that somebody would come up and talk to the pair, and unlike Cephi, Syphon was filled with glee. Impatient glee. "A message?" He echoed, leaning over to the side, as if to amplify the other's voice. "About what? Whose birthday is it? Wait, is it good news or bad news? Did someone get killed or something or are you just wasting my time?"

Spines couldn't help but give Cephariah an odd stare before turning his attention to Syphon. "Afraid it is potentially bad news. Some of the surviving Darkspore seem to be on the warpath. They're heading straight for the city, and the last thing we need is another attack. Unusual behavior for them nowadays, but still..."

"Regardless, Arborus said that he needed the assistance of Cephariah. Something about keeping Ragetusks from goring everybody."

Spines left out the fact that almost everybody Arborus had asked for was also antisocial. What the Bio Sentinel was planning, Spines didn't know, and honestly, he wasn't sure he wanted to be involved. But Darkspore were Darkspore... And he had been gored by a Ragetusk once. Most Genetic Weapons had. It wasn't an experience they wanted to repeat.

IC:

Syphon looked at Spines with inquisition as he began to explain himself. The Infected, as the pair dubbed the mutated cretins, attacking the city? Sure, it's bad news, but at least it's something different. "See, whadda I tell you, Ceph? I was right! You get to go on a lovely little adventure and maim some mutated animals! Won't that be fun?" He attempted to gain a vocal response from his comrade by elbowing her in her back.

She removed the visor from her eyes and turned to give Syphon another glare. Still, she said nothing-- she didn't know what to say. Should she be thankful that something different is going to happen or worried about her potential deathbed? Silently, she flicked her head rapidly to face Spines, similar to the movement of a nervous bird. As she began to think further about this "mission", more and more inquisitions arose from within her.

Why would Arborus want her to do this? She wasn't the most hardy of heroes and she usually depended on a team to beat things to a pulp. Besides, she wasn't anything special.

Daring herself to speak, Cephariah leaned downward over Spines and parted her jaw to emit a very low whisper. "Cephariah? Why Cephariah?" She inquired. "I am not one of a kind, nor do I think I will be very helpful. I may fail."

Syphon glared at Cephi and hopped down from his mount, only before jabbing the six-foot-tall quadhorse lightly in the thigh. "Oh, cut with the crap." He snapped. "Do what you've gotta do and be home for dinner. You'll be fine. You maimed the Infected once and you can do it again. No big deal. You're a big girl. You don't need daddy Syph to constantly keep an eye on you."

Within himself, Syphon was somewhat worried. What if she didn't return? What would he do then? He wouldn't have a ride around town; he'd have to walk everywhere! Plus, where would his next, continuous source of energy be? "..She will be fine, right? How many of these things are there?"

Cephariah turned her scowling glance at Syphon as he continued to run his mouth. At first, she was reluctant, but now she was eager. Just to have a few hours or so away from that annoying, senile bot.

She turned, forcing herself to cough up another inquisition for Spines to hopefully respond to. "I.. ignore Syphon-3D. Where must Cephariah go?"

"Arborus feels differently. He says that he doesn't know anybody else with powers like yours, at least not in this city. And you won't be the only one there. If something happens, then I bet everybody else will help."

It was obvious that the Quantum Sentinel would need kind words to make her cooperate. And Arborus had asked specifically for her. And by asked, Arborus had meant "Get her for me, because I know where you live".

She better not fail... don't want to turn my back on the Darkspore just to save her fat tail.

OOC: God, Frogs, Cephariah is making me sad. XP I want to give her a hug now.

And Spines is kinda a jerk. A nice guy, but a jerk.

OOC:

I love Spines's personality. He's like.. idk. But he's awesome. xD

IC:

Cephariah moaned, beginning to receive second thoughts about this "mission" or whatever of the like. It had been so long since she had laid a violent hand on anyone. She wasn't as mobile as she used to be; she lacked the endurance and the agility to do almost anything in a fast pace. Also, not to mention the whole pain of it all. Did she seriously want to get her eye ripped out-- or worse-- by angry Ragetusks? There wasn't a Crogenitor or any of the sort to keep her up and repaired anymore. Was risking her own life worth a few hours away from a senile battery on legs?

She lifted up her palm and began to rub her face and her sore eyes, almost as if she was trying to comprehend the actual stakes this came with. There was always a catch.

"I suppose I c-could try," she finally answered after a few moments. "A try is all Cephi h-has."

Syphon-3D, the chrome and azure colored bot, crossed his arms and released his own impatience-ridden sigh. "Very well. I suppose I can do the walk alone for today. Just.. watch over Ceph for me, okay, pal? She's my lifeline. Literately. If something happens to her, I'll be your next leach." With one last threatening (not-so-threatening) glare oriented toward Spines, Syphon began to march forward past the pair casually, now not so eager to start off the day alone. He'd have to eat off his own reserves, today. But, y'know, that's fine. It's only for one day.. right?

Cephi watched as the bot marched off, and she couldn't help but feel herself release a sigh of relief. Oh, how she hated him so much. Sure, he was her only true "friend", but in the end he was quite annoying. Besides, Cephariah needs her space. This may be the only opportunity that she may receive to get said space.. even if it means getting maimed in the process. "Now, where must I go?"

*

Syphon had continued to walk proudly and valiantly for a few minutes before he had felt his own pride diminish. Geez, the loitering, patrolling "job" of his wasn't near as enjoyable without having someone to nag at or debate with. ..Or, y'know, ride on. Syphon hated walking. To be honest, he didn't even walk. His legs were so long that he either hopped or skipped awkwardly. It was rather hilarious. But, aside from that fact, Syphon knew today would be quite boring. No body to talk to or use..

..Perhaps he could find a substitute.

Spines noted how Cephariah seem more comfortable without the Cyber Tempest on her back. Mentally noting to try and find some information on Syphon after this whole mess, he turned around and began walking. "Just follow me."

Spines walked through the crowd... well, "walking" wasn't a very good description. It was more of a strange vaulting hop. Regardless, he used his legs to move through the crowd toward less densely packed areas, looking back to makes sure Cephariah was right behind him. The forest was quickly in view, though they were still a few minutes away.

OOC: Just for the record, how tall is Cephi? I was going to make Arborus ten feet tall.

As Spines began to escort her through the crowded streets, Cephariah could feel herself start to grow nervous. The only good thing about this is that Syphon isn't leaching off of her at the moment; if there was something else she hadn't heeded it. Nothing good besides that single thing was going to come out of this.. or at least that's how she looked at it. Cephariah, at that moment, felt like she was being lead right to death row. It's been so long since she had even thought about mutilating something.. besides Syphon, of course. Well, y'know, Syphon isn't Darkspore, so this to her was a whole other ballgame.

What if I freeze? What if.. what if I forget how to do something? What.. what if... what if I get corrupted and die? The Sentinel's paranoid mind began to race with potential mishaps to the mission. The more she thought, the more she felt her limbs grow numb and her face grow hot. It had been so long.. she didn't know what to expect. If Cephi knew anything about this it was the fact she didn't wish to relive her experiences with the Infected..

After a few seconds, her mind began to revert to some other series of thoughts. How many of those things are there? .. Who is going to help me? Do they remember me or know me? ..Will they all stare at me? The worry wart continued to stress out; possibly over nothing. She didn't know if this was worthy of her stress. By the looks of it, though, it sure seemed like it. She hated this.

Why did Arborus ask for her personally? Surely, there could have been someone better.. stronger.. more reliable for this job. Why her? Cephariah couldn't fathom the possibilities. Sure, she can slow things down. What's so special about that? Why can't they just leave her alone? She wants to leave this life behind! The last thing she wants to do is get wrapped up in more dangerous shenanigans.

Still, anything is better than Syphon's annoyance..
..anything is better than that...

Before she knew it, Cephariah could see the mouth of the dark forest ahead. Her face, now thoroughly pale, refused to move as her hyper eyes darted around anxiously. She could hear things in the forest... or at least she thought she did. It was all coming down to this. Everything was coming down to this.

IC: Verdanth: The Deathly Everglades:

He could hear it in the distance... a low bellow. It was a cry of sorrow and rage, a cry for vengeance. A mournful sound he had heard many times before.

The Ragetusks were on the move, Tork mused to himself.

The Fungal King was perched on a half submerged boulder, arms crossed. Mist leaked from the mouthpart of his mask in the cool morning air. It would heat up quickly as the day went on, and he sun hit the trees.

"Is this everyone?" Tork turned his head to look at the Bio Ravager. Floresta was tall and lanky, a good eight feet tall, abnormally tall for most Ravagers. Her head was ringed by a crest of leaf-like protrusion. Her face was long and reptilian, with massive fangs interlocking in a grimace.

It was one of the few times he had heard her speak since this morning. Arborus had retrieved them personally. Tork of course knew that the Ragetusk menace was simply a convenient reason to try and foster social connection. He understood Arborus' intentions... but really, Rageusks? Almost every Genetic Weapon had some story about having a Ragetusk put one of its tusks into some part of their body, usually a rather important organ. Like, say, a lung. Arborus may be able to toss one aside with little effort, but most weren't ten feet tall. With four arms. And the ability to get even bigger.

"Almost," A Plasma Ravager said. "I can see two more coming."

Tork turned his attention to the Everglades' outskirts, a mere 20 meters away. A triped Ravager was in the front, followed by a Quantum Sentinel who looked ready to curl up into a ball on the spot. To his right, Tork heard the sound of heavy foot falls. Arborus leaned over, and whispered, "Watch her back."

Tork sighed. Arborus stood back up to his original height, and stepped forward, a sad smile on his face. "Spines," he began, returning to his usual course boom of a voice, "not a moment to soon. They aren't very far off now." He paused, staring at Cephariah. "What of the Cyber Tempest."

"Scampered off," Spines chirped, "Perhaps for the best. He was a twitchy one."

The Bio Sentinel nodded. "Very well then... his abilities would have been appreciated, but we should do fine." Directing his voice to everybody, he called, "Come close, we must plan, and be told what fiends we will face today."

IC:

Cephariah couldn't believe her eyes. So many familiar persons filled the small region in the everglades. Forget the Ragetusks; if she wasn't going to die from them stabbing her repeatedly with their ivories, she sure was going to die from having a heart attack of seeing so many familiar faces. For a moment she attempted to receive a look on at the small crowd, only to be further distracted by a monstrous behemoth who had began to approach. It was none other than the immensely tall Arborus. Y'know, now she could forget the crowd. She was probably going to choke on the atmosphere itself from the sheer sound of the Biogenetic Sentinel's voice.

For a second, Cephi dared to look up at him only before he had began to speak to her in his booming voice. As expected, she began to silently spazz. Cephariah felt her heart skip a beat and for a moment she felt like she was, indeed, going to choke on air. She just couldn't speak to him. No. What if she said the wrong thing? Shyly, almost in submission, she quickly panned her head to stare at the ground, taking a single strafing step to the left as if to avoid any potential blows.

Luckily, Spines had managed to answer to Arborus's inquisition for her, giving her at least a small sensation of peace at mind. Hopefully he wasn't going to interrogate her anymore. She just couldn't take it. After a few moments, Cephariah began to watch as Arborus replied to Spines and then resumed to call the rest of the "party" on over for planning. Reluctantly, she moved herself forward, taking silent, planned-out steps through the shallow water. This was all too painful for Cephariah: the whole socializing bit. Maybe this whole Ragetusk invasion would go by.. quietly and smoothly. Maybe she was fretting over nothing.

Foolish Cephi, nothing never goes that easily.

Within the outskirts of the little group, Cephi folded her hands and began to, nervously, twiddle her thumbs in a circular motion around one another, waiting to hear what Arborus had to say. Like before, she kept her glance oriented near the ground; she was afraid that if she looked up at the wrong time, bad mojo would happen. And, well, Cephi didn't want that. It was enough that she could hear the bellowing howls of deranged Darkspore in the distance: that was already a stomach-churner as it was. She honestly didn't need herself causing a mistake. Anything but that.

IC: Verdanth: The Deathly Everglades:

Arborus opened his mouth to speak, only to be cut off by a particularly loud roar in the distance. Shaking his head, he began again.

"Brothers, sisters... Once again, we are needed. A group of twenty or so Tentaclers and Toxiraptors are being led by maybe five, six Ragetusks. Now I hope that once we kill all the Lieutenants, the Minions will flee, but we should be prepared anyways. You should all know the drill with Ragetusks; hit hard. They are coming for us, so we will meet them."

"Floresta, Nightshade, and Proton will accompany myself and attack them head on. Kortaras, Nimbus, and Rha will take the right. Cephariah, Tork, and Spines, will take the left. I have already spoken with Savage, and he should have a group of his own ready to attack from behind."

"Any questions?"

IC:

The Manipulator of Momentum flinched upon hearing a quite loud roar erupt in the distance. Any time now, she and her comrades will be sent off to battle. The more she thought about the inevitable, the more it made her nervous. This could possibly be the last time she breathes. The last time she sees. The last time she thinks.. feels.. smells.. hears..

Cephariah continued to keep her eyes glued to the ground as Arborus began to talk, trying to listen intently on his speech. He briefly reviewed on the estimate number of the enemy before he began to direct who goes where. At least the bio sentinel had a plan. That was probably the only thing that eased her anxiety. At least he knew what to do. At least the large club-carrying guy was the one calling the shots.

She heeded to his directions. According to him, she would be taking the left side of the mob.. with two more allies. Goody. Cautiously, almost as if to reassure and confirm herself, she forced her glance off of the soggy floor and oriented it toward Spines, only to slowly pan it toward Tork. Of course, her glance toward Tork wouldn't last more than a few seconds before she nervously pointed her glance to the ground again. She couldn't dare to look at the masked Fungal King. Of all the comrades here, Tork had to be the one she was terrified of the most. Not necessarily a "scared" kind of terror, but more of an anxious one, in fact. I mean, Arborus was frightening as bloody Hell to Cephi, with his ten-foot-tall stature, his oversized club, and his booming voice. He was like a figment of nightmares. Tork, however, was a different story. He was just an adorable, fat little.. thing with a gas mask who lobbed spores. What was so scary about that? To Cephariah, nothing.

The thing is, the quantum sentinel just didn't want him to notice her. She didn't want him to know she existed. She knew she'd flip her shite if the tempest said something; and honestly, she was about to do just that with the intensity of this whole shebang. Still, despite everything, Cephi refrained. She can flip her shite as much as she wants after this whole thing is over with; that is, by some incredible feat, she makes it out alive.. and, also, after she digs a nice, deep hole in the ground. At least then there'd be no witnesses.

To answer Arborus's question, Cephariah silently shook her head. She had no questions that were relevant, and even if she did she wouldn't ask them. What if they were obvious, stupid questions?

Huffing, Cephi lifted up her palms and lowered down her goggles over her eyes, tinting everything in her sight from all colors to a bland azure. This shielded her eyes from any flying debris.. or gore, as the case may be. It also distorted her sight, but it wasn't anything that was new to her. Really.. this whole thing wasn't new to her.

Any time now, the Darkspore would charge. There was no turning back now. It was all for nothing.

IC: On Zelem's Nexus, Xenius was annoyed. She would rather be working on the new trans-galactic exploration expiriment. But nooooo, she had to patch up some Genetic Hero who got on the wrong side of a group of Grappling Pulsars. Sometimes she really hated the fact that she was the only one known who had been trained in repairing her "allies" like a Crogenitor. And this was a really strange looking Hero. He was bipedal and 2-armed. She now remebered that his name was Magnos, and he used gravity. Suddenly somebody she knew,Vex, teleported in. "What are you doing?!?!?" he screamed. "My job, as an auxilary Crogenitor." she replied. "And I hate my job enough, without you criticizing me. How come you get to work on the mission to the nearby galaxy?" She noticed that a meteorite shot straigh towards him. "Get down!" she yelled, "A metoer is about to hit you!" He dived aside (he was too drained to telelport again) , and the meteor smashed into the wall. She immidiately knew something was wrong. The astroid was moving too fast, and it had a streak of blue light behind it. "Some Quantum hero shot this at you, Vex." She knew this immidiately.
