Persona Name Issues

*** NOTE *** This is only possible if you errantly entered your Online Access Key as your username.

I've noticed that some people have accidentally put their online access key in as their persona name.

Since we use EA's central namespace, you can correct this by contacting EA Customer Support. Follow the steps below to start a chat with a CS representative and explain the situation to them. they should be able to resolve your issue very quickly.

Well your persona name is DVDMaster68, your online access key was your beta key.

Philbert: we cannot edit the persona name.
2370822150: I didn't realize that when i got Darkspore Newtodarkspore would be my name for all EA games in the future

I found that if you complain for 30 minutes because you entered your birthday wrong on the account they will reset it anyways. Philbert is a big liar! and also told me he was doing me and ONLY me a one time favor

I contacted EA and they told me there was absolutely NOTHING they could do for me. This should be an ingame option to change your Persona name. It should NOT be your EA account name. This sucks.

Yea...mine defaulted to my email address instead of one of the 5 other EA names I have for some reason...hopefully I can get this changed. I don't understand why Maxis didn't create an option to make different "profiles" or something like that where you can pick you screen name.

I am betting this thread is gone soon. I talked with EA, and it took forever for them to get the approvals to change my MasterID name in the system. I think the only reason they did was that I had some valid concerns since I created the name thinking it was going to be an account login name and not something that would be seen everywhere.

Most of the call was spent showing them exactly where I go the information that they could change it, and proving that MaxisCorey was an Maxis/EA employee so this was not just some random poster saying to do this. I hope they just politely let him know that they do not want us using this thread as justification for calling them instead of going overboard and being punitive against him.

Bottom line, I got it changed, but it took 30 minutes and they stressed that this is not something they can normally do. It was a one time courtesy. Hey EA, get smart and either allow us the option to change it or at least suppress it for specific forums or game IDs.
