Certain users are encountering the following screen during install:



We apologize for the confusion, this message is incorrect are we are already live. To remedy this problem, follow these steps:

1. When this screen first comes up, wait a few minutes, as the install is communicating with our servers and this make take some time. You should see this screen go away, and installation/patching will begin.

2. Make sure the date on your computer is up to date.

3. If the screen remains and installation/patching does not begin, please download and use an installer from http://darkspore.com/download

I had my laucher few minutes open until he the patch downloading. What helps even very well. Open yours EA DM, login with your EA account and starting the Darkspore launcher.

The download begins right away…

Make sure that the date on your computer is accurate. If it is inaccurate, the game will think it isnt released yet.

the year is especially important. Most people dont see the year and just look at the day/month, so they think its accurate, but the year is wrong

Could you guys not have thought of a more fitting launch screen than to make it look like it's an old beta test? I've downloaded this game twice, deleted, copied, reinstalled from disc and online several times and waited for the game to patch, three days later and I've yet to have any success.
I'm really disappointed by how terrible this launch has been. I've easily spent over 12 hours sitting in front of my computer trying everything I can think of to get this game to work. Can't wait for my bandwidth bill to come in.
By tonight if it's not working you're darkspore game will become a coaster on my coffee table. Thanks for the headache.

Not available playtests - The resolve for me was to play with the date on my computer. I relaunched and waited a minute or two.

I had the year set correctly, It seems as if I just needed to reset the date for the game to recognize

haha I raged for like and hour at this screen and then waited like 30 seconds and it started patching

i buy the game from game planet store today and when finish the installation i get the same screen......nearly went back to return the game,but i waited for about 20 seconds and it work ha ha ha

What happened to the good old days when you bought a game independant of some hosted server? It is annoying that I have to depend on an internet connection to play a game especially if the path is in an error state. As it sits, I have been waiting for quite some time for the server to be contacted. Who cares. I should be able to play without having to be connected. It bothers me that I have to have a connection to a server that I do not know nor trust. Just a rant.

Ok, I now realize that the files on the DVD I bought are the installer files only and not the game files as well. This means I have to download 5.2 GB. I am really hating this. I have a Hughe net connection which being sattelite, only allows 425mb per 24 hour period. When I go to a store and purchase a game, I do so assuming that I will not have to download the enire game. I hate this. Thanks EA.
