I bought a 2nd copy of Darkspore, just so I could start over. Used a 50% off coupon so it only cost me $10.
Why would I want to start over?

During the beta I found that I enjoyed the 4-player games the most, so after release, I played every single level in a 4-player group. This actually made progress much easier, especially when grouping with good players. As a result I was in the first 200 or so to reach 18-4. I'd been doing nothing but 18-4 runs ever since. Lately, I've been doing more solo runs, and realized that the game is quite different when played solo.

There's been some posts that the later Apocalypse levels can be very difficult when played solo. I wanted a new challenge so I bought another copy, just so I could play the whole game solo.

At first it was quite easy, as I already knew what works best. I was able to go from 1-1 thru 6-4 without repeating any levels and without any hero deaths. I had my 1st hero death in 7-1, and I had to start farming levels. Once I reached Apocalypse mode, I had to increase the farming and start chaining levels into the one I needed to complete next. I am currently at 18-2, and finding it quite challenging! I need the next stat upgrade (at crogenitor level 59) and some better parts before I can make any more progress. Currently farming 17-2 thru 18-1 for parts.

The additional challenge has definitely been worth the extra expense of buying a 2nd copy.

If you decide to buy a 2nd copy, you need to create a new EA account to buy it with. I tried buying a 2nd copy on the same EA account, and ended up being locked out of both copies until EA support fixed my accounts.

The pros: Being able to enjoy the game again with new perspective of solo play, and playing the game 'fresh' with all the patches that have happened (without the abuse of *cough TORK cough*. Not actually having to download the game again.

The cons: Lose all my edits, Have to deal with tech support if I forget your advice on not locking both my accounts, probably be back to doing 18-4 runs over the course of a weekend, would probably FINALLY end up finding a weapon for Blitz & be choked it isn't on my other account.

I admire your stab at it, I don't think I could commit myself to it.

I've soloed the majority of the game, I used to group to farm levels.
For me the thought of getting as far as possible alone isn't as much fun as assisting group play with Andromeda and finding/buying details for complete Hero DNA overhauls.

The advantage is by having two accounts you can use twice as many heroes, 18 instead of 9. I'm always annoyed because I want to use them all!!! ( well most of them...) having more than three squads would be great... Would I buy the game again for a second login?.....................

I actually had to abandon my Meditron which was a shame, it had 90% attack speed. It was quite deadly. Given another account, I would gladly get my medi back. Personally I don't think I would get doubles.

I wishi could buy a second copy, but I live in Switzerland and it cost 60CHF! Thats literally $60! I bought my first copy in the UK for a lot less, but I won't be going back there till summer. How much does the game cost online? ( where did you get coupons?)

Her healing can be Really unreliable at times.

I've never used arakna as a healer... too unreliable.... you need an ennemy to heal, and theres always the chance of a homing 'bug', where it never hits... Tork is also not a good healer ( not anymore ), too unreliable and not enough healing.
To me, its 5 arboral might sage with enrage, it deals 9000 dmg with his basic (thats a lot for sage), and increased attack speed. His basic offers 20% leech, so thats tons of healing. Arakna can take a hike!!

This is why it's a no buy for me. I played the demo - 4 heroes were available. I wanted to try them all out but I could not start from the beginning which was strange to say the least. When I leveled up to a level where I could activate another hero there were 2 choices (I think) I wanted to scrap Blitz and use another hero but I can't do that. Why?

Certain players may say what's the point. I'd say because there are so many heroes and you can only get a certain amount. I would have liked to try them all out but in this case you are limited to 1 build/profile and that's it. That is silly especially for an ARPG where you want to try different combinations of heroes.
